Beauty Blahs Cellulite is on Almost Every Woman's Hit List

Cellulite is every woman's nightmare: pockets of fat that sit on the thigh or buttock area that resemble cottage cheese. It is the result of aging, of weight gain, and a side effect of child birth. Many women will experience cellulite at some point in their lives. There is not much one can do about it. But there are ways to reduce the appearance of cellulite. Creams, liposuction, and other forms of cosmetic surgery can help keep cellulite from getting worse.

Women who have cellulite either ignore it or try everything they can to erase it or keep more of it from forming. They will wear pants in the summertime to hide the cellulite from others, they will rarely wear bathing suits and if they do, they will wear a wrap at all times. Some women try different creams that are supposed to reduce the appearance of bumps on the skin. These creams are dehydrating agents that pull moisture from the body. Although effective at first, creams must be applied every day or the effects will wear off. Cellulite cannot be shed like other types of body fat. It is fat on the surface, not in the muscle. This fat must be removed through cosmetic surgery. Creams can only smooth out the top layer of the skin. After awhile, the skin will begin to look puffy again.

Liposuction is a surgery that involves making an incision in the thigh or other areas where cellulite has become noticeable. A small tube is inserted which will literally suck the cellulite out of the body. This procedure will need to be performed two or three times in order to get rid of all cellulite. With liposuction, many women feel better about their bodies and will wear shorts and other clothing that will not hide their thighs and other areas. This procedure can be expensive and will have to be repeated every few years because cellulite will return after a while.

Eating properly and exercising will help prevent cellulite. But in most cases, cellulite is hereditary. Even though exercise helps reduce the amount of cellulite, most women in their lifetime will see the effects of it. It is part of the aging process. Through cosmetic surgery, the signs of aging can be reduced. Find a cosmetic surgeon based on a recommendation from a friend or family member. Have a consultation to decide the best procedure. Liposuction cannot be performed on every woman. Those who have dietary deficiencies, high blood pressure, or who have has stokes or heart attacks should not have any unnecessary surgery. A doctor will be able to tell if a woman is a good candidate for liposuction.
Even though cellulite is unattractive, it can be hidden by wearing longer shorts and wraps at the beach. Women should not be too concerned about the appearance of cellulite. As long as they are healthy and try to eat properly while getting enough exercise, they will still be considered attractive. Cellulite is a burden of aging many women must live with.
